First off, hopefully in two years I won't be getting tweets from anyone. I need more characters. And I am seeing some interesting features in other services that are swaying me off of my regular Twitter lurking.

And Barak will keep this up. This is his fire side chat. Not sure what he will be using, but I am sure it will keep up.

[...] Obama needs a social media strategy? President-elect Barack Obama was very conspicuous and successful in his use of social media during the recent campaign. Did he win because of social media? I think the social media-for-Obama theme, and the Senator’s embrace of social media for the campaign, were more symptoms of his victory than a cause. Government will remain top-down, but the ability to engage public and test the waters of opinion is now greater than before. Maybe Twitter or Facebook will be the new Fireside Chat.
I'm not expecting to get much traffic on this post with all the noise. "Social Media Obama" was definitely the meme of the day. Wowsers.

The best overview of Obama's social media inroads was ironically but perhaps not surprisingly put together by Brits: http://www.zenguide.co.uk/2008/11/the-social-media-president/
